Arrens-Marsous to Gite Viellettes. I am splitting the suggested day of 20km with a couple of massive climbs in two. I can do 20km but only if I want to collapse at the end of the day!

The GR10 is nothing like the GR65. On the GR65 I could easily walk 25km, rolling hills with lots of flat I could walk myself into the zone. Empty head, zen-like. On the GR10 no chance. I am either slogging it uphill very aware of where I am, every breathe. Or carefully stepping downhill, watching for slips, foot placement.

Today I get to see my first snake. Not stopping to take as photo! Very long, about a metre and brown. Apparently not dangerous. It’s the smaller black ones to look out for.
